Silky Sleep Awaits You
I ordered this pillowcase after ordering and returning one from Alaska Bear which was 19 mm. I did a lot of research so let me save you some time if I can, the "experts" say that 18-19 mm is the most durable and good for skin and hair, that is total BS, its not anymore breathable then a good cotton pillowcase and it may even be less so. The 19 mm felt like the satin pajamas they sell at Victoria's Secret kinda rough and artificial feeling, hard to explain the feeling but just take my word for it. This pillowcase is the real deal though. It is luxurious, soft, and feels almost like running your hand over a ripple in water (woah this sounds like a sonnet to silk and I'm kinda feelin' it). I sleep better on these, after college I had horrible sleeping habits and this pillowcase makes you want to sleep on it. Some tips: -Buy a lighter color more natural color because the red is still losing color every time I wash it and it's been 9 months of washing it once a week. However this color is absolutely stunning and royal and appeals to the boujee en moi', but had I known about the sustained color loss before I wouldn't have bought it because it makes me wonder if the dye is interacting with my skin every night. - I wash this with lukewarm water in my sink with some baby shampoo, solely hang drying it makes this case stiff and negates the entire point of having a $50 pillowcase sooo no go. Instead I put it in my fancy dryer that has a speed dry option and chose Ultra Low heat and let it run for 20 ish mins. -All the people that had these fall apart on them, I'm sorry that sucks, and I wonder if they wringed it out because thats a serious no no. Key to longevity is to not use hot water (limit it to lukewarm) and to NOT wring it out. Just squeeze the water and hang it somewhere clean and dust free and let the water drip. I did this over my sink or in my room with a towel on the floor to absorb the water drops, and THEN throw it in the dryer. Sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't. It is worth it for the Meredith Grey Season 15 type dreams I get to have on this pillow.
