Definitely the best keto brownies I've had
The flavor on these is pretty darn good. I like my brownies chewy with a crunchy layer on top, but unfortunately it seems like that's only possible with carb-laden brownies. This is a good backup plan.
The reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I'm a little leery of the "Wondrose" sweetener. A component of it is digestible corn fiber, which appears to be shorthand for IMOs (isomaltooligosaccharides), and those spike your blood sugar just like real sugar. (Search for studies on this. IMOs were actually developed as a sugar substitute and are praised for baking like sugar and having a similar impact on the body as real sugar.) IMOs are still classified as "fiber", though, so manufacturers use that as an excuse to subtract the "fiber" carbs from the total carb count and say their foods have low net carbs, but don't be fooled by that. IMOs CAN kick you out of ketosis.
The good news is that IMOs aren't the sole sweetener in these. If you add the "fiber" carbs back in, it appears that you can eat a serving or two of these brownies and stay in ketosis anyway. I ate a whole batch of these over the course of a week and it didn't knock me off track. Phew.
Diabetic Kitchen brownies, on the other hand, are packed with IMOs. They do taste better (they have more of the chewy texture I like), but they knocked me WAY out of ketosis. I literally gained 5 lbs in a week (mostly water weight from the added carbs, but it took me about a week and a half to get back on track again). I'll never do those again. Might as well just make up a batch of Pillsbury brownies if you're gonna go that route.
