Wonderful God giving substance with soooo many uses
This is high quality food grade sodium bicarbonate better known as baking soda. If you want to use baking soda for medicinal purposes you have to make sure it's food grade and free from harmful toxins such as aluminum and so forth. There are sooooooo many uses for sodium bicarbonate it justify purchasing this 50 lb pail of this wonderful God giving substance. Here are a few tips on consuming and using baking soda: Drinking baking soda - also called bicarbonate of soda or sodium bicarbonate'dissolved in water, has long been used to relieve the signs and symptoms of arthritis, indigestion, heartburn, and infection, among other maladies. Baking soda, consumed in moderate portions and at appropriate times, helps bring about healthy body biochemistry. Benefits of Drinking Baking Soda Baking soda isn't only for baking; drinking baking soda water periodically throughout the day can boost your health. Baking soda water works as an antacid and antiseptic, which helps ease stomach and digestive troubles. Additionally, it can boost your body's alkalinity and potentially combat some diseases. Antacid Sodium bicarbonate is most commonly known as an antacid, meaning it neutralizes acid, particularly in the stomach. Acid reflux disease, often called heartburn, has numerous causes. Stomach acid splashes out of the stomach into the esophagus and can sometimes get as far up as the back of the throat. Drinking water with baking soda mixed into it helps neutralize the stomach's hydrochloric acid, eliminating the problem of heartburn. At the same time, the effervescence that happens when bicarbonate of sodium is combined with water encourages burping, which helps relieve bloating and gas. Antiseptic Baking soda's mild antiseptic properties kill some kinds of parasites, fungi, and mold. Because of this, applying baking soda to your toothbrush disinfects the brush and cleans your teeth. Gargling with baking soda water can also help minimize the symptoms of a sore throat or persistent cough. Alkalinity Another benefit of baking soda is its ability to promote a more alkaline PH balance in the body. Alkalinity is the reverse of acidity. Acidity is necessary for effective digestion of food, but an overall alkaline PH in your body is considered healthier, because many diseases thrive in an acidic environment. Diseases of a degenerative nature, like osteoporosis, arthritis, and cancer, have been associated with a chronically high acidity level in the body. The low cost of baking soda combined with its potential health benefits make a regimen of baking soda water drinking a worthwhile dietary change. In addition to the above benefits, simple household baking soda is incredibly versatile in helping to prevent kidney stones, gout, and urinary tract infections. Baking soda has also been linked with improved performance in serious athletes. Kidney Stone Kidneys are vulnerable to acidic urine. When ionic balance is disrupted, serious kidney conditions can ultimately result. Acidic urine can lead to the formation of kidney stones. When this occurs, treatment with baking soda can restore a healthy ionic balance and discourage kidney stone formation Gout This is a kind of joint inflammation that happens when uric acid builds up in the urine, blood, and tissues. Because drinking baking soda water can balance the body's pH level, some health experts recommend bicarbonate of soda to combat uric acid formation. Urinary Tract Infections Sodium bicarbonate may also help individuals with urinary tract infections. Drinking baking soda blended in water can help the body overcome the infection by reducing the acid in urine. To experience even greater relief, drink lots of water and cranberry juice as well. Enhancing Sports Performance Strenuous exercise leads to the buildup of lactic acid with associated muscle pain and fatigue. The longer an athlete can delay lactic acid buildup, the better his performance, especially in sports that require endurance and speed. Consuming baking soda water accomplishes this for elite athletes. Different Ways to Drink Baking Soda for HealthFor Your Body's PH To find out your body's PH, buy some inexpensive litmus PH paper at your local pharmacy and measure your urine and saliva. First thing in the morning, your saliva PH measurement should ideally be between 7.0 and 7.4 before you drink anything. Expect your urine to be slightly more acidic in the morning, since your body has been clearing acids from your body all night. A urine PH reading between 6.0 and 7.0 is appropriate in the morning, and it should increase slightly during the day. Take these readings for a few days, tracking your results. If your PH levels are consistently lower than this, you can use a baking soda regimen to bring you to healthy levels. If your average is low or in the acidic range, drink a glass of water with a half-teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in it twice per day. You need to have acids in your stomach to digest food, so take baking soda only between meals. Continue to monitor your PH. If it's still low, drink this mixture up to four times a day as needed to improve your PH. Once your pH has normalized, eat more vegetables and less acidic food and you should be able to maintain the benefits. For Cold or Flu Baking soda has been demonstrated to reduce the duration of cold and flu, frequently eliminating symptoms in 36 hours. Experts recommend the following dosage schedule. Day 1 - Take six doses of baking soda in glass of water at about two-hour intervals.Day 2 - Take four doses of baking soda in a glass of water at the same intervals. Day 3 - Take two doses of baking soda in a glass of water in the morning and in the evening, and after that only once each morning until cold symptoms are gone. For Athletes Science is proving what athletes have known for years: Bicarbonate of soda can enhance sports performance. Baking soda appears to work best to enhance endurance and speed. Baking soda appears to reduce the acidity produced in the muscles during sports such as running or swimming. Sodium bicarbonate helps the body process lactic acid, which is responsible for the burning sensation produced in the muscles during hard exercise. Only elite athletes are likely to notice the benefits, however, since drinking baking soda shaves only seconds, not minutes, off racing speeds. Alkalinity All foods are either acidic or alkali. The most highly acidic foods are sodas, processed foods, meat, sugar, and white flour. Chronic body acidity has been associated with degenerative conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis, and cancer. Educate yourself on what foods are alkali and which are acidic, and strive to make at least 60% of your diet alkali foods. Find a few favorite alkali foods and make them a steady part of your diet. Use test strips to determine your body's pH levels. If you're on the acidic side, try the regimen outlined above to restore a healthy balance. Tips for Drinking Baking SodaBaking soda is high in sodium. It's not safe in high doses and shouldn't be used for long periods of time.Individuals who have edema, liver disease, kidney disease, or high blood pressure shouldn't use baking soda. Baking soda should be considered unsafe for nursing mothers or pregnant women unless advised by their doctors. Possible side effects of drinking baking soda in water include cramping of the stomach and increased thirstiness. Contact your doctor if you experience swelling of the feet, weakness, slow breathing, or nausea. NEVER take baking powder; it is an entirely different substance than baking soda or sodium bicarbonate. Ingredients in baking powder can harm your body. Avoid drinking anything with bicarbonate of soda if you're on a sodium-restricted diet or if you have high blood pressure, unless directed by your doctor. If you're on prescription drugs, get medical clearance before taking baking soda. Do not give baking soda with water to children younger than age five. If you have a full stomach, do not drink baking soda water until you've had a chance to digest. Athletes should find out from their trainers and doctors if baking soda is considered a banned performance enhancer in their sport. To avoid impurities like aluminum that some brands of baking soda may contain, you can buy pure sodium bicarbonate, which is widely available online. Be cautious with baking soda and consult your doctor if you are on a sodium-restricted diet or have high blood pressure, because it's moderately high in sodium. Other uses for this wonderful God giving substance : . Natural Deodorant If you want to avoid the parabens and aluminum found in many deodorants and antiperspirants, try a pinch of baking soda mixed with water instead. This simple paste makes an effective and simple natural deodorant. You can also simply brush some dry baking soda under your arms. 2. Insect Bites and Poison Ivy Apply a paste made of baking soda and water to insect bites to help relieve itching. You can also try rubbing the dry powder onto your skin. This is also effective for itchy rashes and poison ivy. Baking soda helps to relieve minor skin irritation and itching by neutralizing toxins and irritants on your skin's surface. 3. Heartburn, Indigestion, and Ulcer Pain Most over-the-counter antacids contain some form of bicarbonate. Baking soda works by immediately neutralizing stomach acid, helping to relieve heartburn, indigestion and even ulcer pain. I have personally recommended this to many, including family members, and have been surprised how remarkably effective it is. Dosing is typically ½ teaspoon fully dissolved in a half a glass of water, taken every two hours (do not take more than seven ½ teaspoons in 24 hours, or three ½ teaspoons if you're over 60). This should only be used as an occasional (not chronic) treatment, however, and be careful not to consume excessive amounts, which can cause serious electrolyte and acid/base imbalances. 4. Foot Soak and Exfoliator Add three tablespoons of baking soda to a tub of warm water for an invigorating foot soak. You can scrub your feet with a baking soda paste for additional exfoliation. A paste made from three parts of baking soda combined with one part water can be used as an exfoliator for your face and body, too. It's natural, inexpensive and gentle enough to use every day. 5. Relaxing Soak Baking soda and apple cider make a wonderful spa-like bath for soaking. It also cleans the tub and the drain, as a bonus! 6. Hand Cleanser Mix three parts baking soda with one part of water to make a natural hand cleanser that will scrub away dirt and neutralize odors. 7. Splinter removal Add a tablespoon of baking soda to a small glass of water, then soak the affected area twice a day. Many splinters will come out on their own after a couple of days using this treatment. 8. Sunburn Remedy Add ½ cup of baking soda to lukewarm bathwater, then soak in the tub for natural relief. When you get out, let your skin air dry, rather than toweling off the excess baking soda, for extra relief. You can also add a mixture of baking soda and water to a cool compress and apply it to the sunburn directly. 9. Enhanced Sports Performance Distance runners have long engaged in a practice known as "soda doping" -- or taking baking soda capsules -- before races to enhance performance, a measure that's thought to work similarly to carbohydrate loading. It's also been shown to improve speed among swimmers. While I don't suggest you try this at home, it's another example of baking soda benefits. Researchers noted: "Essentially, sodium bicarbonate is an alkali substance that increases the pH of the blood. This seems to reduce and offset the acidity produced in the muscles during intense, anaerobic exercise that produces lactic acid most quickly, such as fast running or swimming." 10. Tooth and Gum Paste Baking soda has a mild abrasive action that helps to remove plaque and polish, clean, and deodorize your teeth. One review of data from five controlled clinical studies found that toothpaste containing baking soda "enhanced plaque removal effectiveness of tooth brushing to a significantly greater extent" than brushing with a non-baking soda toothpaste. Baking soda also has antibacterial activity and has been found to kill Streptococcus mutans bacteria – a significant contributor to tooth decay. For an incredibly effective tooth and gum paste, use a mixture of six parts of baking soda to one part of sea salt. Place them in a blender and mix for 30 seconds, then place in a container to use. Wet the tip of your index finger and place a small amount of the salt and soda mixture on your gums. Starting with the upper outside gums and then the inside of the upper, followed by the lower outside of the gums then the lower inside, rub the mixture onto your teeth and gums. Spit out the excess. After 15 minutes rinse your mouth. This mixture is incredibly effective at killing bacteria. You need to exert some caution in this area though as many believe baking soda can be too abrasive on your enamel, and Dr. Curatola believes that killing the oral microbiome may be highly counterproductive. 11. Teeth whitener For a natural way to whiten your teeth, crush one ripe strawberry and mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Spread the mixture onto your teeth and leave on for five minutes. Then brush your teeth and rinse. This method should be used no more than once a week, as excessive use could potentially damage your tooth enamel. You can also use baking soda as a natural cleaner amongst other things. Always consult with your doctor or license natural health care physician before trying something new and introducing into your body. This wonderful substance have help my family in soooo many ways.
