I’m a firm believer that good makeup brushes do not need to cost a fortune. However, I also feel I have realistic expectations when using more affordably priced brushes. I don’t spend 10 bucks on a set of brushes and then leave a scathing review because they don’t perform like pricy, high-end brushes. So having said that, this is solid set of brushes. I’ve been using them for about a month now and have already washed them several times, so this isn’t an out-of-the-box review. First, these seem to be really well made. I haven’t experienced any shedding at all. This is often an issue with less expensive brushes. and for me is a deal-breaker. I refuse to use brushes that shed. I honestly can’t say I’ve seen a single stray bristle while using these brushes. As I mentioned, I’ve already washed them several times in a motorized, spinning brush washer. They have held up beautifully, even after vigorous spinning to get them clean. Also, the handles are secure. I’ve had to re-glue other brands of brushes because the handles end up falling out of the metal ferrules, but I haven’t even noticed any of the tell-tale wiggling that precedes the handle falling out. I’m very impressed with the quality and construction of these brushes. Next, there is a brush for virtually every need. This set contains such a good variety of eye, lip and face brushes that anyone could easily get by with this set alone. For anyone who likes to use multiple shades of eyeshadow, there are more than enough brushes to use a different one for each shade and area of application. There are also multiple face brushes, which is nice because I have a different one for powder, blush, highlighter, bronzer, etc. Last, the performance of these brushes is quite good. They’re both dense and super soft. The eye brushes are outstanding, and I find they pick up a lot of product and their application is precise. The face brushes are also good, but I do feel like the largest powder brush is not quite dense enough to suit my personal preference. It’s a passable brush, however I find that I’m still often reaching for my older, favorite powder brush over this one. Regardless, a quality set of this size for this price is a dream, and the fact that there is only one brush that I don’t absolutely love seals the deal for me. I would wholeheartedly recommend this set to anyone.
