We recently moved to a new place and for some reason, the garage and basement had spiders, centipedes, millipedes, and possibly rats that just wouldn't go away. To remedy that, we bought a dehumidifier, cleaned up the areas that had the infestations and added some diatomaceous earth to the affected parts of our home. That sort of worked for a little but we still see the occasional spider, centipede and millipede. Obviously, we didn't like that and decided to try this ultrasonic pest repeller and boy was it effective. Now, there are three settings mind you and the red one can be kind of loud so you'll want to activate that possibly during the night to keep rats away for good. The first and second settings are good for spiders (give it some time, they should gradually move out of the room), you just plug it in, and that's it!
