I work in a bank and wanted comfortable slacks that also looked good enough for work. These are nice and work well - look like work slacks and are super comfortable. The key for each person though is the fit and I wanted these to fit like work slacks (meaning not skin tight). On me they fit like they do in the picture to give an idea of the fit. I ordered Medium due to all the reviews. Small would have fit and probably been comfortable but would have been too tight for me to feel they were ok for work. I'm 5'5" and weigh about 118 lbs and have a non curvy build (meaning not much difference in waist and hip size). Generally pants that fit in the waist for me are too large in hips/upper thighs and pants that fit in hips are several inches too small in the waist. To help more, my waist measured at about 1 inch above naval is 30". Waistband on the pants I got (the mediums) are 28" . My hips at largest part are 35". Doing my best to measure the pants at widest hip point is right on 35". Front rise (inseam to the top of waistband in the front is 10.5 ". The waistband itself is 1 1/2" so rise from inseam to bottom of the waistband would be 9". The length on these is 32" - I would have preferred 30"-31" but the 32" is fine.
