Best for the price
I live in a tropical country so this item gets hard use. I recently had to buy a replacement for a screen that wore out after a couple of years but it got hard use. By now I have purchased five of them for myself and an elderly neighbor. The installation instructions are easy enough to follow, but I found that because the magnetic closure starts from the top down, it works better if I “pinch” the Velcro at the top center together right above the edges with the magnets, it makes it easier for the magnets at the top to mate up. Then the screen sort of zips closed in a couple of seconds. It does not take much, about a ½ inch little peak against the Velcro on top instead of laying flat. It is essential that the screen is not pulled too tight horizontally because the magnets have to have enough play to attract and close together. Don’t cut any corners when installing. If you don’t clean the door frame properly (I have metal doors) you will have problems. I had a double wide sliding glass door. No options I found were satisfactory, so I had an upholstery shop sew two of them together. Works fine. This is when I discovered that the two screens were not the same length. I guess these are made by hand somewhere. I have not found any other screen I like better for the price. My advice is to buy it. Apparently the supplier will talk to you on the phone if you get stuck. Liberal return policy.
