I was recently given a pair of these slippers in the black color. I would like to tell you about their best and worst features. Here is what I love about them * The black color is great. The design is very subtle with a black upper, black inner and black sole. There is a small sliver embroidered logo on each outer upper. Its very subtle and does not stand out. Theses could easily worn out of the home with a long pant and most people wont notice your wearing a slipper. I say this because my elderly mother often has painful swollen feet and relies on slippers. The black sole on these makes them passable as shoes. * The rubber sole is a "real" sole. Its a firm sole and could stand up to regular wear. Perfect for stepping out to get the mail or get something out of the car. The sole is thick and tall enough to keep the upper dry if you were to walk through dampness. * The upper is made of a thick quality material. The collared area is thickly padded and plush. * The inner is soft and plush. * The sole is made of the same quality plush material. Here are my quibbles about this slipper: * These run small. I would say go up a size. If you read the other reviews many mention they run small. * These are W I D E ! I have fat,wide Fred Flintstone feet ! Shoes are never too wide for me ! These are wide. * They run HOT ! I wish they ran cooler. * I wish they had a more cushioned sole. I want that Ahhh feeling when I use a slipper. These are a bit firm. I assume the indoor/outdoor sole is responsible for the firmness. Overall, if you are looking for a quality well built slipper with a rugged sole these might be for you. They remind me a lot of the original/old style Lands End slippers just more firm.
