This is a wonderful ladder but PAY ATTENTION: THE CLOSED LENGTH IS 100". You might think an "8-foot ladder" would fit under your 8-foot ceilings. It will when open (it's about 93" tall; See photo). Just to be clear: eight feet is 96 inches; your "eight foot" ceilings may not be exactly 96 inches! I bought this ladder with the intention of storing it behind a door in a room with eight foot ceilings.... that's not happening. And no, it won't fit under a bed. So unless you have a tall room you're not going to store it upright. And behind a door requires a minimum of 5 ½" for width ... trust me on this. As usual Amazon's Product Dimensions aren't accurate. My measurements above are accurate. After I figured this out I asked for a return and the seller agreed without any push-back. But this is so nice in every other way, I canceled the return and decided to store this in my garage (9-foot ceiling) and order the six-foot model of this ladder for inside the house. So what do I like? Very light ladder, very stable, 300-pound rating (225 on the 6-foot model), wide top step, the little catch-all at the top, the locking mechanism and the locking drawer (!) for small screws/nails/etc in the wide step.
