I always purchased the air purifiers with the washable permanent filters and while they worked really well the first couple of days after cleaning them, I have to say I'll never go back again. Even though you have to replace the filters (which btw I'm a cheap a$$) it's beyond worth it. I have a 750 sqft 1 bedroom apartment and while this unit says it will do 300-600sqft it works very well on my entire apartment. I will have many friends over on the weekends to hangout and the majority smoke, I didn't used to allow smoking inside but with this I keep it on auto and it keeps the air clean to the point my non-smoking friends are actually impressed how well it cleans the air. The next morning you don't even smell that stale cigarette smell like I have smelled in the past when I would say screw it and let people smoke inside. I have 3 Oreck air purifiers which I've had over 10 years, while they work okay, the 3 of those can't even compare to what this 1 unit does. I will undoubtedly purchase another one of these if I ever upgrade to a larger place and most definitely would recommend it to any one. I hope this review helps. If you're ever wondering if it's worth breaking down and getting something you have to replace filters on, the answer is yes! Do it! It's worth it and the filters are easy to change. Don't forget that's coming from a penny pinching cheap a$$. This is an amazing product I'm very happy I purchased.
