Seriously impressive to an audiophile
**TLDR=buy these ** I've only owned these buds for 3 days, but I'm already impressed enough to write a review simply because of the excellent sound quality. I have a Note 5, which supports Ultra High Quality bluetooth: paired with these buds it sounds incredible. I feel the tone is even warmer and brighter when I enable the UHQ up scaler option on the Note. I will note that I am a hardcore audiophile and have lots of high end audio equipment including a tube amp I hand built, external Denon DA300 USB DAC, and Sennheiser HD 650 phones... Of course, that setup sounds much better than these buds, but I've never had such amazing sound quality without wires and with such convenience as I have with the level u pro. I will concede this is the first experience I've had that has convinced me to drop my trusty cabled Sennheiser buds (C300 I think) and enjoy the awesome convenience of bluetooth. As for functionality and the practical aspects of the device, I've found it to be equally superb. The device is incredibly light yet doesn't feel cheap... you really forget you're wearing it when it's not in use. The fit of the buds into my ears is nice and snug with factory installed ear gels, though there are 2 other size options included in the box. A unique and genius polish is the built in magnets in each bud that allow you to stick them together quickly when not in use; the phones attach such that they create a little stand that rests gently on your chest and appears less disheveled than other options. The magnets also serve to automatically pause content as soon as they are stuck together, which is a brilliant little touch when you quickly pop the buds out and don't want to fumble with a phone or smart watch. I feel the controls are well placed on the right front underside of the neck band.. After only a few minutes of using them (having read the manual first, I confess) I quickly warmed up to the 3 button interface. Very simple ; the bottom button is pause or play, answer or end call, when tapped, the top and middle buttons are volume up and down, respectively, and when held next or previous track. The power switch and micro usb charging port are located on the rear of the band. I really like the solid click of the power switch to turn them on or off, with a further push against a resistance to the right, held for 3 seconds, will put the device in Bluetooth pairing mode. It's a very elegant layout with no superfluous buttons, which makes it very easy to use from a tactile perspective. I've made a few calls with them and have been told the audio output quality is crystal clear. I believe the device has 3 microphones for very effective noise cancelation. When I tested it on these calls, I was sure to ask the person their opinion of the call's quality before telling them I was testing the Level. When I told them I was on a headset, they seemed very impressed with how clear it was (one was my brother who's an obsessive, critical tech guy like me). Charging takes maybe an hour or so in my experience, and I haven't had to recharge yet after 8 hours or so of use..leading me to believe battey life estimates are accurate. See the attached photos for some of the features I discussed. This goes without saying but I highly recommend these buds.
