Ridiculously Effective
I feel bad that I didn't take pictures to back up what I'm about to tell you, but let me assure you this broom is the real deal! And even as I type this, I'm sort of embarrassed that my house sounds so gross to achieve the results I'm about to reveal to you, but even with daily cleanups (with inadequate tools), there is a lot of hair and dirt that gets tracked around by eight pets and two humans. That said...
I have a number of area rugs that, because they're handwoven, I was advised not to vacuum. But, honestly, the crappy little carpet sweeper I had didn't do squat and I'd break down and begrudgingly vacuum them from time to time. Then I started reading reviews about this broom. I was like "Nah...no way...can't be that good..." but I ordered it anyway.
HOLY SMOKES!
Within just a few light strokes I was pulling up strands of hair and fur that had seemingly become a part of the carpet. And when I say "light strokes" I mean it. I've read some reviews where people say it can be a workout. I suppose that depends on how deep the pile of the carpet or rug is...in my case, it was super easy and within 3 quick minutes I had a disgusting pile of hair and dirt scraped from the surface of my 7x10 area rug. WHERE HAS THIS THING BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!?!?
Then I decided to try the carpet in our bedroom. It was a little bit tougher to "sweep" but equally effective. And finally I decided to use the squeegee side, dry, on our wood laminate flooring just to see how it worked. Within 3 strokes I had dirt, hair, and the tiny irritating kitty litter sand granules piling up on the floor. Amazing!
I was giddy. My husband thought I'd lost my mind that I was so excited about a cleaning tool. I handed it to him and said "Well, YOU try it..." He smiled and said "Nope! You're not going to trick me like that..." RATS! Almost had him. Anyway, I've only used it a few times and have had ZERO problems, but I can see where people would advise to ditch the telescoping pole and use a solid painter's pole with the metal tip. I will not do that until/unless I have to...
If you've made it this far in my review, then thank you...and you must be really bored. But the fact that I wrote so much about a broom/mop/sweeper is even amazing to me. I wouldn't hesitate to give this six stars if I could!
