Munchkin wins over Dr Brown
Ok so I purchased this and the Dr Browns pitcher because I couldn’t decide which one I would like better. After using both for about a month now, I hands down prefer the Munchkin brand.
Pros
-It’s small enough to not take up too much space in kitchen fridge and also fits in our small mini fridge we keep in bedroom.
-The mixing handle is sturdy. The Dr Browns pitcher has a very flimsy mixing handle which causes formula to spill everywhere. I find the Munchkin to be much more user friendly and sturdy.
-The seal mechanism seems more airtight than the Dr Brown. It has a plug that seals the top of the pitcher whereas the Dr Brown has a sliding lid.
-Has a time marker to indicate when you mixed the pitcher and when it will expire (mixed formula expires in 24 hours). I used this a lot when I was sleep deprived but have sense not used as much.
Cons
-It will only hold 720 mL/24 oz. This currently fits our 24 hour needs, but obviously will not as time goes on. This is the trade off for the convenient size. Not a deal breaker for our family but may be something you require. The Dr Brown holds up to 40 oz.
-If using the full capacity of 24 oz, it can be a tight fit for mixing. It is able to manage, but you have to start slow to not spill.
End result, I just purchased a second Munchkin pitcher as I really enjoy its functionality and durability.
