I originally purchased this product over a year ago for my husband, who has dementia. Because of the nature of his disease, I couldn't tell if it was doing anything, so I started to use it myself - just one capsule/day. After a couple of weeks, I noticed that my recall was faster than it had been. When I explained this to my daughter, she did some research and decided on a different brand. Based on her research, which had something to do with the extraction method, I switched to capsules by Real Mushrooms and soon started to feel my recall slow down again. I then switched back to Host Defense and things have definitely improved. Can't explain it but thought it was worth sharing.
