My dog had anal gland issues, to the point that they got infected. Two different vets didn't really have any advice as to how to keep them clear, so I did some research on my own. I found out that fiber actually helps solidify a dog's stool, which in turn helps force "stuff" out of the glands as it passes through (tmi? sorry! but it makes sense, and for an owner that has had to deal with it, it is good to know!) I first tried Glandex, which worked great, but is expensive. So, I bought this Firm Up hoping it would be as effective - it is! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the dosing directions seem to be off, at least for my dog. The directions say to give her 2-5TBSP a day for her weight (90lbs), but 2 TBSP made her vomit. I now give her 1 tsp 2x a day and it is working perfectly. Also have her on Naturvet digestive enzymes. No gland issues in over a year!
