Compact, Silent, Excellent Buy
I bought this bike because I needed an exercise bike that was quiet. My old bike was not magnetic and was very loud. so loud i couldnt hear the TV or anything else over it. This bike is completely silent. i LOVE it. It folds up nicely, i can roll it out of the way, and move it back easily. I can exercise while my baby is napping without waking her u,p and my other kids can play and hear each other. One other thing I'd like to point out is the heart rate monitor, while a lot of machine are not accurate, i tested the handle bar heart rate monitor alongside of my chest strap which is about as accurate as you can get. The handle bar heart rate monitor was within 5BPM of my chest strap consistently, which is a pretty awesome plus I was not expecting out of this. The price is amazing. the quality is great. I am 5'9" and it extends out far enough for me and my husband who is 6'. I put it together fairly quickly, the instructions were easy to follow. i think it took me maybe 20 minutes to construct it Pros: QUIET!!! Silent i should say. Folds up easily, rolls in and out of where you need to store it. Has a phone/mp3 holder which is an important feature that might be overlooked by other machines. Heart rate monitor is accurate. it can extend out for taller people. The seat is very wide and comfortable. and the pedals are nice and wide too. I can sit comfortably on it without too much "saddle sore" that i got from my old bike. The resistance has a wide range from no resistance at all to very hard to pedal. so i think it would be good for all levels of physical ability. Cons: No water bottle holder. I ended up buying a water bottle cage from the dollar store, drilling in two holes in the front to attach it. You can buy ones that dont need to be screwed in i think too. in the pictures you can see the cage on the front of the bike The calories burned is not very accurate. it overestimates by a lot, but it has no way of knowing your height, weight, and fitness level to determine that so i can't expect too much i guess. when you stop the bike long enough for the display to dissapear, it resets the workout. If i have to stop to get my kid a drink or anything, it starts the time and everything over. There should be a way to keep it unless you want to erase it. My old bike had that feature. This isn't really a con, its more of a personal preference but it might matter to you. The pedals are out in front of your body a bit. In a normal upright bike the pedals are almost directly below the seat. this is kind of in the middle of an upright and recumbent bike. This actually might be a good thing for people with lower back and neck pain. It might also be the reason i dont experience the "saddle sore", i notice my butt doesn't hurt as much on this bike as my old one. I think the wide cushion also helps with that too.
