It looks like most of the one star reviews didn’t read the directions on how to put it together or the packaging on the front saying there should be a gap between the where it latches. As you tighten it in the doorway, it closes and lines up. It’s right there in the very easy to read instruction Manuel (not to mention on a sign when you first pull it out saying it is suppose to be that way) I recently moved and don’t have doors in a loft style place. I wanted to keep my dog out of my closet but didn’t want an eyesore. This gate is beautiful and perfect! Easy to instal and easy to follow instructions (even with a migraine) I will actually be getting another one for my bedroom for times I want to keep him out of there as well. Was very pleased with how pretty it looks once up (and very sturdy)
