These lights are perfect. I put my vanity in my closet because it's the only place I had room for it. But it's dark in there. I would get ready there and then go in the bathroom and realize how bad my makeup looked. These are super bright and I love them! I attached them right to the mirror frame. There aren't really any instruction on operating them. The power button is touch sensitive and if you hold the button you can adjust the brightness. I keep mine all the way up!
