This microphone is perfect for studio use because in addition to having a clear, natural warm tone, it's super quiet. The self-noise / noise floor is super low. The only mics I own that are even close to this cost well over $1000. That's very important for people looking to do voice recording because the recording is clean and clear without needing to apply any post production filtering. This not only saves you time in post production, your final mix is better off when you start off with as few filters as possible. In addition to the low noise floor, what I love most is the tone. It's warm and natural. I've used mics in the past that were either too muddy, or too bright and harsh when you listen for a long time. The tone of the X2 is right in the middle... not too soft, not too bright.
