I live in NYC. The sediment and rust in the water is high noticeably once you know what to look for which is mostly in the hot water side. In my photo from left to right are: A new, unused sediment pad (Left). A sediment pad on the intake side of the filter cartridge after 1 month use (Center). A sediment pad on the output side of the filter cartridge after 1 month use (Right). Now what this filter did was remove all that gunk and rust from the water, this in turn stopped the tub and shower curtain liner from turning brown after a few days and having that dirty look. It also stopped that dry scaly skin and shampoo lather up much more easier. I use to have to scrub the tub every week due to the dirty look but now after this filter I simply spray some Tilex and rinse it after a few minutes every 2 weeks. I wish there was a way to get just the replacement sediment pads as once they get clogged up after 2 weeks the water pressure drops by half, then after a month it drops drastically. So every 2 weeks the sediment pads needs washing out. After 2 months the filter cartridge started falling apart, the wire mesh screen came loose and the filter medium started falling out the cartridge. Edit: 3/2021 Changed from 3 stars to 4 stars I contacted the company and provided proof of purchase of 2 carriages and they sent out 30 replacement sediment pads. Total game changer! Every 2 weeks I change the sediment pads and after 6 months I change the filter. This shower filter is totally worth it!!
