Great follow up with more wisdom
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book - all of my opinions are my own. In August of 2018 I took a gamble on "Girl Wash Your Face" because I had an Audible credit and I kept seeing this cover pop up on my feed. I immediately connected with the message Rachel Hollis was putting out. So much in fact that I started changing my life and am continuing to do so. When the opportunity came up to get and advanced copy of her next book I jumped at the chance to learn more from such a motivational influence. My first thoughts after finishing the book were that there was a lot of recycled content. After thinking on this I realized it is because I follow her on social, I watch the morning show, I've seen the documentary, and I will be going to Rise. That being said there are millions of women who will read this book who will not be that engaged, so this book is packed full of content for them. Rachel sparks motivation through out this book with several statements that really kick you in the butt. She gives heartfelt but firm guidance on how to get to where you want to go and what obstacles you may encounter. She does all of this while adding several bits of humor that ease the pain of looking at your situation for what it is which is sometimes very difficult. I have seen a lot of reviews that talk negatively about the "religious" aspects of this book and I want to address that from a non Christian perspective. In this book or "Girl Wash Your Face" I didn't feel like the book was oozing religion. In fact I had to go back and look to even see mention to her faith in this book. I always look at reviews for books that seem to be in the religious space because I want a message not a preacher. Rachel Hollis is preaching but not Christianity, she is preaching for women to empower themselves and others to change the world no matter what your religion. Last but not least I would suggest this book and her last for any high schooler or new college student as well as any mom who is struggling to find herself again. If I would have read these books as a teenager I honestly believe that my life would have been exponentially changed for the better.
