This tent has it all!
My wife and I enjoy camping. We had a tent that we used for a few seasons, but it had seen better days. It was a $20 Walmart wonder, the Ozark Trail brand, and it held out for a long time without leaks or tearing. We somehow lost the rainfly, and instead of getting a tarp, we decided to just retire the tent and shop for a new one. We read many reviews on Amazon and other websites, across lots of brands. In the end, we decided we would get either a Wenzel or Coleman since replacement parts can be easily ordered if needed. This one won out! Our big camping trip was just around the corner, so we ordered this tent and went on our way. When we got to our campsite, we set the tent up. There were 3 of us setting it up, and it probably took about 20 minutes. I chalk that up to never setting this tent up before. It wasn't difficult at all, it's just like most tents. Spread the tent out, stake the tent down, put the shock poles together, slide them through the pockets, stand the tent up. (There were some other steps of course, and some tents vary the order.) Anyone can do it. The rainfly and room dividers were quick and simple too. We were expecting scattered thunderstorms and heavy winds, so we staked down the guylines on the rainfly, but the weather turned out to be perfectly sunny and warm all trip. My point is, this tent is as easy as it gets to set up. We read that some people were having issues with the zippers. Knowing this, we were gentle with them and had no issues. A couple of our friends got the same tent as us (can't beat this deal on Amazon!) and had zipper issues. It looked like they stretched the front of their tent a little too taut, so the zipper couldn't zip all the way. The zipper then got stuck on one of the flaps over it and remained lodged there. I think it was more of user error, but that's just my opinion. There's no hammer, which we expected from the reviews. We have a rubber mallet, so this was no issue. Seriously, it's only a couple bucks at Walmart and will do a hell of a better job - if you camp often, you should have one! Also, while this tent only includes your standard tent stakes, those were sufficient. On the morning we would be leaving, the wind and rain started. We stayed in the tent and waited for the worst of it to be over. It wasn't that bad, but even so, the tent stayed perfectly dry. When the rain slowed to sprinkling, we got out and started to pack it up. The water just beaded off of the sides and rainfly wonderfully. When we got home, the sun was out, and we spread the tent out on our patio to dry it off. It didn't take long, and we were able to fold and roll it tightly enough to fit back in the bag! We're excited to get out there and camp again, now that we have a trusty new tent! I highly recommend this tent for the price, the quality, and the ease of setup!
