Cons: -Doesn't come on a spool, but coiled, and the line knots up to no end if you aren't careful unpacking it. -The remote needs DIRECT LINE OF SITE to work. You cannot hide the receiver behind a curtain or piece of furniture. -The AC-adapter has a bright green light on it to let you know it has power, easily fixed with a piece of electrical tape. -The AC-adapter gets pretty darn hot, and I'd be hesitant to place it in a packed surge protector. Pros: -This does what it's supposed to do. No complaints there. The light is perfect for ambient background illumination. -The lights do get warm, but never hot. I wouldn't have reservations if this was touching curtains all night. -The remote is simple and easy to use. -The string itself is VERY pliable and easy to manage once untangled. -The power cord/remote extension gives you a good 4-5 feet of unlit line to work with before you reach the part of the string with the lit bulbs. Makes it easier to work with and conceal. I used it as a background light for my television and attached the string with Command Decorating Clips.
