Greatest yet! Too bad it’s cracking. 😢
Liked it for a few months. It is my 10th cat water fountain (my first one was purchased at a large chain pet store about 15 years ago). I’ve had literally almost every type, brand, material, color, size and style. Even a custom made creation by a local artist. Once I realized how much it simplified my life and encouraged my cats to drink more water I was hooked. Some of my favorite models I even bought a second time after some minor issues with my original purchase arose. This fountain is by far my favorite yet. The size is ideal for my one cat home (but it could easily accommodate multiple cats or small dogs). It is so quiet I forget it’s there (the most quiet one I’ve had - others claim to be silent but are not). The cleaning is still not an enjoyable endeavor, however, I find it much easier than most. I live in an area with ridiculously hard water and yet I am able to clean it with regular dish soap most of the time. Every few months I have to use some diluted CLR on the ceramic parts only to get rid of the calcium build up. The ONLY reason I have to take off a star is because the bowl has cracked. It is a hairline crack around the bottom inner perimeter currently, but I am anticipating it spreading until it becomes unusable. It’s really a shame because these pet fountains are expensive and I will be replacing it soon. (Average life of my pet fountains is about a year, give or take. It’s unclear why this is. I follow directions to the letter and my meek little kitty cat is very gentle with them. A tip for fellow hard water people: the plastic fountains are NOT equipped for this and you’ll find yourself spending more for a quality one later, so don’t cheat yourself with a cheapie. Stainless seems like a good idea but mine always rattled endlessly and eventually became permanently encrusted with calcium regardless of my scrubbing with Bar Keepers Friend. Also, check for the hidden plastic components that aren’t advertised - some boast about ceramic or metal and once you open the box the whole inner workings are made of plastic. (Some plastic parts are unavoidable, but the less the better.) And for goodness sake, watch a video on how you assemble/ clean the thing before you invest! Some are ridiculously complicated and take too much time to reassemble. Deal breakers IMO. Hope that was helpful.
