Almost perfect
This bag is everything that my DM husband has been searching for for a while now, and we were really excited for it to arrive. He has a lot of books, and I'm just talking 5e, let's leave out all other editions, and had to remove the dividers. He got 9 regular hardbacks (campaigns, PHB, MM, DMG, etc.,) 2 paper supplements, and a DM screen into the main compartment; around 2 pounds of dice into the side bags, along with a sleeve of vis-a-vis markers for the map and a pack of pencils for the gang; the standard 12 miniatures will fit in the top, or if you are replacing any medium characters with anything smaller, 2 of most any creature can fit in the same foam compartment; and of course, the map in its awesome little loops, which would easily hold 2 more if they were all rolled up together. The front pocket is secret and I'm not allowed to look in it, but I think it's DM notes and possibly some cursed dice for uninvited players. lol. The good: ~It holds a large number of books and supplies and doesn't seem like it has an issue with the weight. ~You can keep your every-game minis close at hand so you don't have to rifle through storage boxes to find that exact tiefling you were using last week. ~I think that the side pockets are actually small bags of holding. I mean, almost 2 pounds of dice? Plus more stuff? ~That map holder. <3 ~The zippers on the two larger compartments have 2 zip-pulls, one from each side of the bag, so that you can stuff justalittlebitmore into them. The bad: ~The super awesome double zip-pull on the mini chamber of our bag only works in one direction. If you pull it from the other direction and then try to lift the bag, the zipper pops open, like the gaping maw of a mimic, spewing your minis out onto the ground, thus creating a veritable minefield of caltrops. Very, very expensive caltrops. ~That badass buckle on the front of the bag? We were so sad to find out that it was for show and just had a magnetic button closure instead. It holds just fine, but, you know? ~We were really hoping that we could fit a few more books into the bag. As it stands, everyone's character sheets and notepads just kinda hang out on a shelf because they won't fit in the bag. Since we move around a lot for games, that's pretty inconvenient. I do hope that Natali, the first generation Tiefling with the Russian accent, doesn't get left behind on accident. Or crushed in a less-than-perfect bag not intended to hold someone of her fine stature.
