Warning--"2018 Edition" is a DOWNGRADE from the normal version, this is the MiniPro260 rather than the MiniPro320.
I just bought a Segway MiniPro in a brick-and-mortar store rather than from Amazon after I learned that the "2018 Edition" means that it has a SMALLER battery capacity for a SHORTER range. I paid the same price in a store for the version with a 310-Watt-hour battery with a 14-mile range (the MiniPro320), rather than for this version, which has a 236-Watt-hour battery with a 12.5-mile range (the MiniPro260). It's not obvious on the Ninebot website that this is the case, although you can clearly see the difference if you go to the Segway website. The staff person at the store where I bought mine had no idea that there was a difference--both models were stacked together and priced the same!
I'm not sure why they did this, although I read some speculation online about it being more difficult to ship batteries with capacities over 300 Watt-hours. It's not a huge difference in range, but still, I'd rather have more than less!
I love the scooter and it's super-fun to ride and easy to learn. But I'm glad I did some research. I bet that people assume that the "2018 Edition" would be new and improved, when in reality it's less capable.
