Don't like eggs? The perfect "omelet" maker!
I have been on a low carb diet for six months. Eggs, a staple of low carb, largely were missing from my diet because I do not like eggs (okay, maybe the occasional Eggs Benedict). I noticed that when I did eat eggs, they filled me up and I stayed full for a good part of the day. What to do? I purchased this omelet maker and have been using this recipe: one jumbo egg whisked up with a small bit of cream, then anything allowed on low carb: diced ham, shredded cheese, diced veges. Mix into the whisked egg and pour into one compartment of the omelet maker to cook for 10 minutes. What comes out is a spongy, cake like thing that really doesn't taste much like eggs (especially with a little sour cream spread on top). Yes, the calories and fat probably make this a no no for anyone not on a low carb diet, but for those of us who are, this is not a problem (occasionally). This "omelet" keeps me full most of the day and may help me avoid calories at other times. Best of all, it has allowed me to add something tasty to the low carb diet, which, in turn, has allowed me to lose 25 pounds over the six months and to keep it off.
