Wonderful product that makes your life easy
I had a 10 gallon tank and was using the siphon and bucket for water changes. I upgraded to a 36 gallon tank and when I tried to fill it up with the bucket it was a lot of effort and mess on the floor. There was water all over and I went hunting for a better solution. I came across the Phython no spill solution. I was excited that i could finally do water changes without issues.
One note that i would like to mention is that i am the least handy person. So when I tried to attach the No Spill system, I could not find the thread in the facet. I searched all over but could not find a way to attach it. I called Phython. They were closed. So i went back to siphon and bucket for the water change as I could not risk the fish to die. As I noted earlier about my lack of handy man skills, I was waiting for the call back from Phython to guide me. They called me after a few days and asked me to remove the aerator. I then found out from him that there will be a key with faucets which can be used to remove it. Now I knew where one end could get screwed.
In the mean time i had ordered the snap connector thinking it would help me with fixing it to the faucet. But it turned out that it helps me to snap on the system to the faucet.
Now coming back to my attachment to the faucet, I still could not fix it. So I took the brass adapter to HD along with my aerator ring. There they helped me and said that the brass adapter that i have from Phyton would work with my faucet and I did not need anything extra. I took one extra adapter just in case.
Back home there was success in fixing the adapter to the faucet and i was able to get water out of the tank. But there was lot of water spray around the faucet with water coming out from the sides. Filling the tank was unsuccessful. I flooded the bathroom floor and said this is not working. I went back to my bucket to fill the tank.
Now you might be wondering as to why I gave this a 5 start review. If you are still interested, read on.
After a week, I wanted to try this again. This time I removed the washers from the brass adapter and started with less pressure from the faucet. It did not siphon the water from the tank but there was no leak. I increased the pressure and it started working. Still no leak.Next was the turn to fill the tank. I closed the drain side and kept my fingers crossed. It was filling the tank and no leak. There were high fives all around. It was working. No more spills or buckets or cleanups.
So in the end it was 2 things that caused problems. First was the aerator and next were the washers in the adapter. There was nothing wrong with the product but my lack of knowledge as to how it works.
Thanks for reading my long review
