A must have
Love this vac! I sort of bought it on accident. Since the v6 is on sale everywhere we ended up getting that on a whim, not realizing this new one was out. (Hence the sale) For the 2 hours I had it not realizing the v8 existed, I loved the idea of the v6 but the battery on it was terrible as many know. I'd barely get one room in my house done let alone all the hardwood. Not to mention about 10 minutes in, it was HOT. Hot, loud, and dead. Back to the store it went.
Once I got the v8 home I was stunned. It is A LOT more quiet. So much so I was worried something was wrong with it. I charged it up and messed with all the attachments. "The fluffy" is my favorite because it is exactly what I needed to cut my floor routine in half. More than half. Most of my flooring is bamboo and very difficult to clean. I used to have to dry dust with microfiber first (vacuuming the mop off as I went every few strokes to make sure no rocks were dragging) then wet mop. I have neck pain and it was very difficult lugging the vacuum around with me. Now, I simply run the Dyson, then I can wet mop. I can fly through a room. And THE STAIRS. I no longer face certain death by taking my normal vac on the stairs. Yes the Dyson is 600, but that emergency room copay... (How I rationalize)
My bedrooms are still carpet, which honestly I don't think I will use this for. I am not sure why. Part of it is probably because my normal vacuum, the brush bar bristles are just longer and more rigid, and I don't have to empty it after each room. And also, I guess I don't want to kill the Dyson.
I'm not sure I have anything bad to say about it. Yes I guess it would be neat if the battery were swappable. And I am wondering what happens when it needs to be replaced because they do not last forever. It would be nice if like a Power Wheels, you could just get a new one and slap it in.
And yes the price is steep, but you know what they say, time is money. And truly, this tool would really help folks that may not be as strong as others or may have an injury they need to be careful with. I also have abdominal surgeries often and vacuuming is a NO until your doctor clears you no matter what vacuum you have, but this will certainly make it less scary.
If for you a vacuum is just a vacuum this may not be the best fit but if you're anything like me, I think you will love it!
