I had hurt my wrist and couldn't use the manual can opener I had, without difficulty The Hamilton Beach saved me a lot of pain. There's a point, not a wheel to puncture the can top. You just puncture the can and take your hand off the "control top" It automatically runs around the whole top and shuts off when the can is completely open. A magnet holds the top until you remove it. The top/point comes off so you can wash it in hot water, This would be very helpful for older folks with arthritis or any stiffness. I'm happy I bought it.
