Great product for the money. Purchased for our 4 mo old daughter along with the 3" thick mattress from DOM. My husband assembled in about an hour on his own. There are no gaps between the mattress and the crib sides. We were concerned after reading several posts about the potential problem. My husband is a licensed contractor and builds and assembles furniture as well. Gaps between the sides and the mattress maybe caused by incorrect assembly of part (g) metal connections. These need to be adjusted square and tight against the mattress pad base (J) and adjusted when securing the mattress pad base to the legs. (CDEF). If done correctly there are no gaps. Hope this helps.
