Seeing improvement with product. Company is awful.
First, the product. My dog is a middle sized, 14 year old dog with back and hip arthritis. She just didn't get around a whole lot and was prescribed a couple of drugs to help with pain. Though she doesn't seem to be in pain, her mobility was still not great. So I thought I'd give this a try because the company offers a free trial (more on that in a minute). We add water to the powder and pour it on her food, like a gravy. She eat it up, all of it. She loves it.
After a couple of weeks, we didn't really notice a change. But after a month, maybe 5 or 6 weeks, she has a little more spark. She is trying to jump up more and even has little spurts of running and playing. She still has a kink in her step every now and then but it doesn't seem to hurt her. So I think Extend is doing a good job and I'll stick with it. Though here is the word of caution:
ONLY BUY IT FROM AMAZON. If you are wondering about trying it, DO NOT try the "free" trial. What they fail to mention up front is the following (these are mentioned in their terms and services if you find/read them first):
1) It may take a few weeks to notice a change in your pet.
2) They send you a month supply for a trial BUT after 14 days, if you don't return the rest of the box, YOU ARE CHARGED FULL PRICE for the entire box. So this isn't a "free trial" unless you use it for 2 weeks and return the unused portion. Even if you did try it for 2 weeks, you may not see a change in your pet so if you want to wait and see, you will be charged $69.95 for your trial box.
3) If you don't return the trial and are charged, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY SIGNED UP FOR A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. So after two weeks, you will now be charged full price for another box every month. You have to call them to cancel and try to get your money back.
4) If you try to get your money back, you will be on hold for a bit and then have someone with a thick accent (but a very American name) attempt to upsell you to a monthly subscription.
Here's why you should buy it at Amazon:
1) If you want to give it a try, it may take a month to see if it works. Because of that, go for the better deal and just buy the month at Amazon and see what happens.
2) It's cheaper at Amazon.
3) You don't get signed up for a monthly subscription.
4) No upselling from who knows where.
So in the end, I like the product, it seems to be working on my dog but I want to stay at arms length from the company. So no five stars because I can't call it great when the company is not.
