I bought 4 of these lights and they work pretty well but I was hoping for longer battery runtime. It only provides about 4hrs of usable light. Basically, after 4hrs the light is too dim to be of much use. If you dare to take the light apart, you will find it comes with a 200mAh Ni-mh battery, the battery style found in old cordless home phones. I searched Amazon and found the EBL BT-446 1000mAh battery to be a great upgrade but requires some soldering. It's the white battery in the attached pics. After replacing the battery, I got about 9 hours of usable light on battery. Yes I know the mAh math doesn't quite add up but I'm just reporting actual results. I also tried using a Kastar 1000mAh battery but it only lasted about 6hrs. The EBL BT-446 performs better so stick with it. Bonus mod: I found the night light would turn on when there was still plenty of light in the room. To fix this I used a drill bit to increase the size of the sensor hole. Works much better now. I hoping someone finds this info useful but don't blame me if you attempt this mod and you somehow damage something or someone.
