First this is very new device so you have to understand they are trying to make it better with every software release. I have been using for two days and here are my initial thoughts. Positives 1) Setup, configuring, and updating was a cinch 2) The device is nice is the ability to dim the light is a great feature for night 3) The app is well laid out and has many options including allowing you to select which map app to use for directions 4) In the two days I have it it has already updated it software once, showing me that company is actively making it better 5) Speaking and having Alexa respond is easy and I have very little issue command Alexa to do things, with that she does not always translate correctly I am telling her. Need improvements 1) Navigation and contact integration - I have repeated ask Alexa to give me directions to work and she has yet to be able to send me to the proper location. I have also tried "Alexa give me directions to home, and she has not got that right either". With that said if I speak the full address in she does end up getting it right. But I should be able to say a name or business and have it take me there. 2) Unable to send a text message - Functionality does not exist. 3) Calling works OK but sometimes she does not get the right contact. 4) No Spotify integration - coming soon (knew before purchasing) So to recap the company is actively working on it and if you expect it to be perfect you will be disappointed at this point. The main points I would want this in my car is for directions, music, phone calls, and text. All of these have issues in my case, close to rendering it useless except for "Alexa play station X on TuneIn." Which I am not sure I actually need a virtual assistant for. If they could get the directions functioning and the ability to send and read texts to you this would be a 5 star rating. Information - Audi A3, IPhone 7 plus, IOS 11.3 Updated 3/9/18 - Their customer support has been great. They have resolved the issue with Waze and not knowing my home and work addressed. This was caused by the Alexa App not having the correct addresses set in the Alexa App -> Settings->Traffic. They have also worked through my cutting out issue and will have a fix in a new release. As with all new products you need to work closely with the company to help them recognize and work on fixes. So far their customer service has been top notch. This will get 5 stars once they add Spotify and fix the cutting out when using waze for directions. It is much closer to making my phone completely hands free in my car.
