Overall this item does exactly what you want it to do! I have it switching between a Blu Ray player and Apple TV. It has a small button on it that must be pushed (not via remote) to switch channels. One thing to keep in mind is that it does have a BLUE LED light on it, which is very visible when watching TV in the dark. Blue LEDs tend to be super bright, so I wanted to point that out. All in all I'm very pleased as this thing does what I needed it to do.
