"Amazon's Choice"
Very pleased with this on the day of delivery. It is sleek and compact and feels “solid,” unlike the Cuisinart SS-10 it replaced. It does not take up much counter space. The water heats up quickly. I measured the outflow temperature of the water (without a K-cup) with a thermocouple. It read between 182F and 195F, the optimal temperature for drip brewing. Although it can brew cups “in five sizes” ranging from 6-14 oz, those sizes are distributed across three ranges from which you must pre-select when setting it up. It is easy to preset the range: unplug the coffee maker, depress the “small” button, plug the coffee maker back in, then select the range you want to use. I will call the ranges “low,” “middle,” and “high” and the volumes produced “small,” “medium,” and “large.” What it produced on the LOW range was small=6 oz, medium=8 oz, large=10oz. MIDDLE range: small=8 oz, medium=10oz, large=14oz. HIGH range: small=10 oz, medium=12 oz, large= 14oz. I wish that the MIDDLE range was set for 8, 10, and 12 oz because 12 oz is an ideal size for my mugs; 14 oz is practically overflowing. I read elsewhere that the coffee maker will only heat its water when the lid on the K-cup compartment is closed. But even after the coffee maker put out the largest cup possible, it was ready to go for the next cup right away. I am puzzled that the Mueller website does not show this model as one of their products. Perhaps they sold it off to other manufacturers because the exact same product is marketed on Amazon under the “Aicok” and “Mixpresso” brand names (at higher prices). Note that the refillable coffee pods that come with the Cuisinart coffee makers do NOT fit in this device.
