I think it gives accurate weight but I have to take out the battery to recalibrate the thing every time I use it! Correction: After making this review, the VP of EatSmart products attempted to contact me regarding my dissatisfaction with their scale. After being unable to reach me, they sent me a replacement along with an explanation that I'd probably received a lemon. I'm incredibly impressed with their superior customer service. UPDATE: 2 years later, this scale is still incredibly accurate & going strong. :)
