I do a lot of IT work and have a lot of friends that are in the same field but I have never encountered these adapters before this point. I was extremely skeptical of the technology and bought this adapter with very low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it works flawlessly! I have taken 4 speed tests (via internetspeedtest.com) for each type of connection (direct Ethernet connection, WiFi, Powerline) and have placed the average results below. I found that even though I have my Powerline adapter 3 floors below where my router is connected it functions as if my computer is directly connected to the router. If you are a gamer and you have your rig far from your router this would be a great product for you. Installation: You just simply plug it in and it works there is no software or any special gestures in setting it up. I've noticed that this product has a small ~10% or less of people that are reviewing it poorly. I've read these reviews and have found that either the person doesn't know what they're doing or has faulty wiring within their house. Below I've listed 2 criteria to keep in mind when buying this adapter which should ensure that the product works for you. Criteria to keep in mind: - When buying a product like this you have to make sure that your house's electrical wiring meets the standard of use - if your house was built prior to the 2000's this product may not work very well. - Also the distance between the two adapters should not exceed 1,000 feet for optimal performance. Unless you live in a mansion I don't see this being a problem. If neither of these things are a problem for you then I would recommend this product. I'm planning on installing a number of these for small businesses and a few friends in the near future. I'll post results for those installations and the specific scenarios to give you guys a better idea of whether or not your house is suited for Powerline. Thanks for reading! :)
