See why I didn't give it 3 stars
I bought my Shark vacuum directly from Shark infomercial. I got the pet package. Comes with caddy, Genie (bare floor Cleaner), under appliance wand (it won't fit under any of my appliances, but it does reach under my couches, heavy furniture thats low to the ground, and behind washer and dryer), upholstery tool, and crevice tool. Pros: *My carpet was old when I moved into my house 3 years ago. 3 teenagers, 2 dogs, 1 husband, and a mom that hates to vacuum and my carpet is in sad shape. The vacuum really lifts up the carpet and it has the best carpet brush I have EVER seen in a vacuum. *You don't have to sneak up on pet hair and worry that I will blow away under furniture or in a tight crack; major problem with my old vacuum. *The lights on the vacuum head and the wand are in ALL the right place. It lights things up nicely. *Container empties nicely, very rarely do I have to stick my hand in and dig anything out. *LOVE the floor Genie for my bare floors (mix of many different types). Goes from one floor type to another and works great. *Appliance wand is long enough to fit under my couches, beds and other heavy furniture for a quick pick up without moving furniture. and Its so long it snags cobwebs in the corner of ceilings with out barely lifting my hands in the air. I think a different tool is meant to do that, but I like this one better for it. *Filters are washable *Best for last SWIVEL head is amazing. I will never own another vacuum without a swivel head. They will soon become standard like A/C and seat belts in a car. Cons: *Be careful with when using the caddy. It sneaks up on the back of your ankles and rams you like a kid pushing a grocery cart. *The crevice tool doesn't have the power that my old cheap worn out vacuum still has. Disappointed in that for the money I paid. *It is heavy. It's a well built machine, and with that the trade off is it IS NOT a LIGHT WEIGHT vacuum. *The power in the main floor head (for carpet, not sure what its called.) is very strong. So strong it will pull you for a ride if you don't keep up. *It doesn't prevent dogs from shedding in the first place. (probably not the vacuums fault) Over all vacuum does a great job, I have to empty the cup often, because of the type of dog I have and the amount of shedding it does (youtube video of an "akita in a blow out". My dog sheds like any another heavy shedding dog 365 days a year, but I'm extra lucky because he has a blow out 3 times a year and they last about 3 weeks. So basically it looks like dog hair snowed everywhere in my house everyday. It picks up dog hair and dirt at the same time, something old vacuum just couldn't keep up with. The caddy has many uses in my home, but I figured out real quick to keep an eye on him. He likes to sneak up on you and ram your ankles. This vacuum is a well built heavy duty piece of equipment that does an amazing job with pet hair, teenagers, husband, and mom that hates to vacuum; the trade off is it is HEAVY. I would not recommend this vacuum for my mom or mother in law. They both have health issues and lugging this guy around and changing the parts out are more than they can handle. I considered giving this vacuum 3 stars because I'm so disappointed in the fact that the hose does not have powerful suction when I'm using the hose attachments. That really bugs me for the money I paid for this machine. I use the crevice tool and now the appliance wand for many things, and I don't like that it's weak. But the way the vacuum pulled my old carpet up and made it looks so pretty won and it got the 4th star. If the hose attachment was powerful I would have given the vacuum 5 stars.
