Works well, with a little experience
I never thought I'd put rubber onto a hot skillet! First off; don't worry, it doesn't melt. Second; as with all cookware, you have to test using it, to get to know it - once you have, they work well. After getting mine, I found a very simple trick to keep the egg or pancake batter from leaking out under the bottom; before putting the ring on the hot skillet, dip the ring bottom into the mixture! When you put the ring down on the pan, it will immediately cook and create a form-fitting seal. Then pour your mixture into the center. Boom! Then you can make those perfect circles of egg for your sandwich, or pancakes. Let it cook until it begins to slightly harden, remove the circle (you can press the mixture center with a spoon to hold it if need be), then flip and cook the other side.
FYI; a single egg poured in will wind up being just a bit less than 1/4" thick once cooked.
