Rocking the Boat on Physical Fitness
The book is a great behind the scenes account of the vision and ultimately the development of the X3 Bar system by Dr. John Jaquish, who also invented the OsteoStrong system previously. I'm thankful for smart guys like him. :)
Even though there is a lot of technicality in the book, it is very understandable and a very easy read. It flows really well.
My photo was taken after working out on the X3 Bar for only 34 weeks. I am 66 years old and in THE best shape of my life due to working out with the X3 Bar. I lifted weights for 3 years at the gym, and looked nothing like that after all the time and effort.
I suffer from a minor left shoulder impingement that used to prevent me from lifting as much weight as I was capable of, because my shoulder would not allow me to lift any more weight at my weakest range of motion.
Because the layered latex bands of the X3 Bar system accommodate variable resistance, i.e., much less tension in the weakest range of motion, I am able to push MUCH more weight in the strongest range of motion than I would ever have been able to with weights. In other words, I was maxed out on the amount of weight I could bench because of the shoulder impingement, and I was really bummed about that.
The X3 Bar routine takes me about 15 minutes per day. No more than one set of each exercise is necessary, and there are only 4 exercises per day. 3 upper body and one leg exercise.
Does it work? Well, I repeat, check out my photo on this review after only 34 weeks on the X3 Bar. And, oh, by the way, none of that is from working out with weights at the gym, because I hadn't done so for 2 years prior to starting the X3 Bar.
Don't tell Dr. John Jaquish, but I would have paid double for the X3 Bar system. It's that effective, that much fun to use six days per week, and saves the time and expense of going to the gym. The price is a bargain as far as I'm concerned.
