Vacuumed everything I could today with the new vac. PROS: +++ Light weight but really got a huge amount of fine dirt out of my carpets. Felt like the work went faster. I didn't have to re-vacuum areas like I used to. Once over and done! +++ Vacuum head size is smaller, fits between things and under things so I get places previous Hoover was too big to get! +++ The extension hose goes 15', 12 steps up the stairs, wow! I get the last three steps from above. With the long hose, cleaned the whole L-shaped leather sofa without moving the vac at all! +++ All tools on-board, a bit of hose-attaching and you can get even cobwebs in ceiling corners. +++ The extension wand doubles as an extension handle so I can get under large tables easily. +++ Cord long enough for my 1000 sq ft apartment. I move the plug only one time. +++ Vacuums hard floors. +++ I can wash the filter! Great! +++ Not noisy, easy to maneuver. VERY powerful. +++ Can turn the beater brush off or on as needed. Nice! +++ Looks good and stores compactly! CONS: --- I have silk carpets under dining table and in bedroom The vac has no height adjust (self-adjusting) and the vac head sucks down on the silk and won't move!!! Ugh! not good! Shag carpets? Forget it! --- When emptying the dirt, make sure you are far from the house, in the trash can. The fine dirt is electrostatic, a mess! Does not just fall out like a lump! I will adjust to that issue then wash the whole assembly after emptying. Save on bags, yes, but need time to clean the system out! --- To make the machine lighter, there is no auto-retracting cord. I don't care! --- My thick wool Chinese carpet does vacuum well enough, but adjustment of height would work better. Conclusion: Front entry area carpet is stiff and vacuumed nicely like with all the rest of the house, but thinner silk carpets or thick shag are not possible with this model. But the rest of the features are so well thought out, great design, light weight and effective in cleaning. I really like it! Update after 2 weeks I purchased the 1 1/4" Deluxe Floor Brush attachment through Amazon for my thinner area carpets of silk. This works perfectly! The brush attachment has a roller at each end to maintain height. With the Hoover wand and extension hose, EVERYTHING is doable. Silk carpets get the best gentle treatment I've lacked for the past 20 years. I can get way under the low sofa and under the bed, behind stuff. Yea!
