Since these are unisex, I was pretty confident the footbed wouldn't be too narrow nor the upper too tight across the instep. (My usual size is 7 wide for sneakers and 8 wide for winter boots.) Also, I wanted a style with a thick, rubbery sole so I could step outside onto a wet or lightly snow-covered surface. The fit of the slippers is very good for me. I love the springy soles. Very comfy. Since I just got them today, I can't speak to the durability. I hope this listing remains on Amazon in the future so I can re-order when needed.
