I bought several rolls of this because I wanted to make an authentic mummy costume for my grandson for his 8th birthday (he loves mummys). I figured the insulating wrap would also keep him cooler in the August heat during his b-day party in the park. We soaked the rolls as instructed, and did him up. Well I want to tell you it worked great! He looked pretty spooky and the kids loved it. The only downside was that Chester got a pretty bad rash and was itchy for about a week and we couldn't tell because he was wrapped up. Pretty sure it was from the birthday cake because we think he was born gluten free but we haven't had him tested yet. The metal clamps were also helpful but maybe a little too tight, he had a little numbness for a couple of days in his fingers but it went away luckily so maybe don;t use those for your own mummy costume.
