I started with two, and mounted on gutters at the front of the house. The dim light is helpful, but the full light is as bright as a normal light. I have a sidewalk beyond my driveway, and the light did often go off due to cars or pedestrians and there's no adjustment on the device, so I stuck a bit of cardboard to cover the top of the sensor, and now it's great. It's summer, and lasts all night on the setting where it's always dim, and 15 seconds of full for every movement. So now I bought another two for the backyard, I'm sure they'll be just as useful. One tip to connect them to your gutters is to just grab two binder clips, and clip them to the gutter. One of each clip's handles goes through the light's mounting slot, and then I used a cable tie to make it secure.
