Quick comparison to the Vimergy brand
I'm following the Medical Medium (MM) protocol. When I was looking for chaga mushroom powder, the Vimergy brand was particularly expensive, and I was trying to find a way to stay within budget on my supplement purchases. I found this brand and decided -- despite many of the reviews talking about a spirulina powder that this company also apparently sells -- to give it a try since it was organic and looked reasonably reputable. I'm glad I did. The powder is fine grained and dissolves easily in water. The consistency, smell and taste are consistent with what I found when I purchased the Vimergy brand. Additionally, I've had positive results with it. HOW I'M USING IT I've been taking this product for about 2 weeks. I take 1-2 teaspoons each morning. I try to drink it mostly on an empty stomach, though that's not required. My trick is to drop the powder in a 16 oz glass of water, walk away and do other things for like 30 minutes and then by the time I return, the powder has fully dissolved. I drink it in a few swallows and feel it taste mildly like burnt toast. RESULTS I'VE SEEN When I tried the Vimergy brand a year ago, I didn't really notice any improvements so I opted to save money and stop taking it. I'm trying chaga mushroom again because it's supposed to reduce liver heat Using this product/this year, I've happily got some bang for my buck. Specifically, it provides a gentle, sustained source of energy, reduces depression and very noticeably increases my motivation/focus. Also, it has lessened liver heat as I was hoping it might. That's important to me because … I had been experiencing hot flashes as a result of my thyroid and adrenals being chronically out of whack. Now, so long as I use the chaga and eat reasonably well -- aka low fat, salt and sugar -- the heat/flashes don't happen. DIFFERENT RESULTS/BRANDS Why didn't I experience the same results with the Vimergy brand? It's hard to say. I tried it a year ago. I'm eating somewhat differently this year -- less protein, more produce. Additionally, I'm a year older with hormones more out of balance. For instance, the few hot flashes I had last year were taken care of with a simple adrenal herb product (eg, Gaia Adrenal Health -- 2 daily), but this year the adrenal herbs haven't been enough. Another possibility to consider … The chaga could have been helping my depression/motivation/focus without me realizing it. There could be something fundamentally different between the two brands, but I doubt it. Of course, if one doesn't work for you, it might be worth trying the other brand. Sometimes different brands do cause different results. ABOUT ME In case you're curious, I'm a 5' 1", 105 lb, 40+-yr-old female who eats lots of fruits and veggies and very few packaged, processed foods. I'm not being paid for this review. In fact, I don't usually write reviews, and I'm only writing this one because I was looking for this kind of info before I purchased this product so I hope it helps someone.
