Review after installation
I did not buy this off of Amazon, but I bought the exact one from another site. Since installing it (about 3 days ago), we had one very heavy rain storm.
Installation: Like what has been said, no words in the manual, just pictures. For the most part, this isn't bad. There were a few times where trial and error took place. But overall, it really isn't that bad.
I put it together myself in about two days. If I had started early and worked all day, I probably could have finished it in a day. I did use my 13 year old daughter to help with the roof. Other than that, you really don't need two people. That being said, it definitely would have been faster with two people.
The roof...oh man the roof. The roof was the only difficult part. I would recommend two things. Don't used the nuts that they provided - they all seem to come off, and used three people if possible. It would have taken half the time if I had another set of hands to help.
Weatherproofing: Like I stated previously, it rained very hard after I set it up. The water leaked from the side panels...actually quite a lot. I think I can take care of this with some silicon sealant. It looked as if the way the water came off the roof could have made the water entering through the panels worse. So I need to figure something out to funnel the water away from the panels when it rains. It may have also leaked from the design of the windows. It appears that there are basically three channels in the window (The screen and the upper and then the lower plastic window. So because of this the water was entering through the screen and pooling in the middle channel (for the the upper plastic window). I need to look at that problem more to see if it happens again and, if so, what needs to be done.
So I have had it for less than a week and overall I am happy with the design, materials, and size. When winter comes and we get a snow storm I'll update how it handles the snow. My advise is, as stated before, read the directions multiple times then plan a long day or two of assembly (and get more than one person if they are available).
For a product that was sold out, I was surprised about how little info there was on the internet about it. It is a pricey product, so over the long run, hopefully it is worth it.
****update****
I have had this for 4 months or so. I am happy with it with a few minor complaints. The main one I am seeing now in winter is that the door slide is on the outside. We have had a few days of rain followed by cold weather. This has caused the water to pool in the door tracks and then freeze causing the door to be frozen shut. I was able to muscle it open a couple of times but the last time I had to use a blow dryer to melt the ice to be able to get it open enough so I was able to go outside and use a screwdriver to remove the ice.
The only other complaint would be, again, the design where the water comes in the windows as I said above.
The good news is that we have had some ridiculous wind storms here. The first time part of the roof flew off but I blame myself for that. I didn't fully secure the roof but after that time I bought screws and bolts and put extra long screws to hold it down. Since then we have had a few more wind storms and the thing has held up nicely.
We will see after a real snow storm how it holds up.
