First off I have to laugh at all the negative comments...Obviously these people have little to no comprehension of how things are supposed to "help" correct your current issues NOT necessarily "solve" them right out of the box. Here are the YES things you should expect: 1) Yes you will need to do a little measuring and adjusting to find the correct spread of the periscope and alignment. IN FACT YOU MAY NEED TO DO IT MULTIPLE TIMES before you find the right fit. 2) Yes you will need to then seal all joints with foil tape and YES you will have to purchase this as a secondary item. It's sheet metal with folded joints that are not sealed in the factory. 3) Yes it will then take some more PATIENCE to line things up to push in both the new product and your dryer into the correct position to get all components in place. 4) Basically what I'm saying is it takes very minimal effort or brain power to make this thing work for you. Stop being a snowflake! Here are the NO things you should expect: 1) NO - it will not work right out of the box 2) NO - as much as you would all like to think that this thing was not built on an assembly line for mass production but rather was specifically built for your situation at your house in some town in USA I'm sorry to say it wasn't. Your going to have to use your brain (I know a crazy thought when you spent a whopping $13) and some good old common sense. 3) NO - it will not solve every single existing situation for your laundry room venting wows. So do some homework and think about if this is the right product for your current situation. 4) No - it will not eliminate that space concern behind your dryer. You have a plug or a gas line or the depth of this product to deal with so understand your dryer will never be flat against the wall (unless you recess all of those items inside the wall cavity - but judging by some of the negative comments there is no way you have the brain power to do that). The friggin product works...very well. But your going to have to put in a little tiny effort to make it work properly. Shipping was great I may add. And the locking rings are not needed (in my situation) as they fit nice and snug when the dryer is pushed in securely enough. Been running over a week now and have zero lint escaping. It will be pulled away once a year to inspect and clean out (another thing most people will never do because it should probably have some automatic cleaning mechanism in it so they don;t have to do additional work).
