I have experienced bouts of depression and anxiety on and off throughout the course of my teen and young adult life. I had a traumatic brain injury when I was 10 years old and can recall a dramatic shift in my mood since the accident. I have also been diagnosed with Adult ADHD and I am prescribed adderall. I have tried several different prescriptions from doctors to try and battle my depression and anxiety. Each anti-depressant left me with insomnia and 3 hours or less of sleep. This was negatively impacting my job and personal life. My doctors would then try a different medication after a two month trial of whichever medication I was on to see if my body would adjust to the symptoms but the problems persisted with each medication. I had tried a different brand of 5-HTP without the serotonin synthesis and the product was not as effective as this one. I have asked several different doctors on several occasions to test and see if I had deficiencies that would cause this so we could treat the problem and not the symptoms. They hadn't listened to my requests. I kept changing doctors until I found one who will listen. My inability to focus, depression and anxiety sky-rocketed. All I wanted to do was sleep because I had become so mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. I decided to take matters into my own hands and research more about serotonin production. After some research and reviews I came across this specific product and brand. I was desperate and wanted this to arrive at my doorstep immediately because I had come to the conclusion that my battles with depression and anxiety were just how my life was going to be. On day one my depression and anxiety were still there but they seemed to be less apparent and my emotions were more controlled. I continued to take two capsules in the morning and the improvements kept coming. Within a half an hour my energy levels went up and my mood was improved after taking the 5-HTP Plus. My co-workers noticed more pep in my step and asked me what was different. They both tried the product that morning when I told them about it. They also felt like they were more energetic and less irritable my day to day tasks and interactions. I took it upon myself to ask my roommates (sister and a friend) if they would pay attention to my mood when I decided to try this product and let me know if they notice differences. They both said they noticed that I was happier and less irritable and asked about what I was taking. So of course I had them both try it too. My sister later asked me to send her a picture of the product so she could order herself some because she felt the positive improvements after one day of taking it. **I feel as thought I should mention that I do not like taking my adderall everyday because some days it makes me impatient and irritable but it helps me focus tremendously. When I take the 5-htp and not the adderall I notice that I can still focus and receive the same positive impact that my adderall provides me without the crash or jitters. ***This product is not intended to be a cure all and I wouldn’t advise anyone taking medications that help with depression and anxiety to stop taking them without first consulting a doctor. Continue to seek medical help and understand everybody has a different reaction to medications. Ultimately, I love this product and will continue to take it as needed. This has been one of the best purchases to help with my mental and emotional health. I still have little spells of anxiety and depression because I am still coping through a few battles and continue to work with doctors to get to the root cause of my turbulent mental and emotional state. I have been only using this product for 14 days and hope to see continued improvements. 14 days ago I wanted to crawl inside of myself and hide from the outside world. Some days I still feel like isolating but this product has helped with that significantly. I would strongly suggest this product to anyone who battles those symptoms especially when life becomes a little bit too chaotic.
