Very necessary for spouse recovering from surgery. He's 6 ft tall and this pillow fits. The pillow is a two piece set, with buttons and loops to attach the neck roll to the back of the pillow. Hubby detaches and uses the neck roll pillow to help prop up leg against the sofa back while recovering from surgery. The top of the back has a convenient carrying loop, so it can be picked up and moved from sofa to bedroom. It's very sturdily attached, and I use the strap to pick up the pillow, but carry the body of the pillow to the other room. This has made the absolute difference between comfortable recovery and developing back problems trying to stuff an amalgam of unsuitable household pillows for back support onto the sofa. I work in a nursing home, and 2 therapists told me I must order this reading pillow for my husband's comfort during recovery. They were absolutely right. He uses it all day and part of the night on and off. It has held up well under constant use. It arrived bundled up in a small package. Instructions said to undo the wrapper and let it fluff up by itself for a day. I did just that, with a couple of upside down extra shakes. The pillow has lived up to its description. I was initially considering tossing it because I thought it would be saggy and worn out by the time offter his recovery, but it's so well made and the cloth is so comfy, that it has earned a place in my home. It fits hubby (6 feet) and it fits me (5 feet). What else can a person ask for? PS has a zipper for removal of cover which has not been used, and 2 pockets (back and side) which could conveniently hold reading glasses and a magazine.
